#HClassBlog - "We Are The Champions" - March 3, 2026
Hello everyone! My name is Saqeef, and this week, I will be writing the blog for #HClass25. I am a Grade 7 student at Sir Arthur Currie and I enjoy playing sports like volleyball, badminton, and soccer, and I play the trombone, the piano, and the guitar!
For the FIRST TIME EVER in Sir Arthur Currie P.S. history, our boys volleyball team won the Valley Finals! The boys worked hard and never gave up, and all the work paid off. Three people in our class are on the team. Jackson, Deyaa, and me! Here is a photo of the team!
Badminton season will be starting up soon, the grade 7’s and 8’s of Sir Arthur Currie will be trying out for the team!
We have been learning about algebra, and isolating variables to find a value. A phrase that our class constantly says is, “A letter is a variable, and a variable is a letter.” A variable represents a value that changes and varies, hence the name. We also learned what monomial expressions are along with algebra! To celebrate Black History Month, our class has written and presented overviews of podcasts made by CBC on famous black Canadians. We present the accomplishments and the hardships and praise the bravery of these people who overcame the impossible. Here is one of the slides, on Jazz legend, Charlie Biddle.
In the gym we played the game “Gold Rush”. A game involving beanbags, jails, and safe zones. Whoever took all six beanbags won, and if you got tagged, you got put in a “jail” on a mat, until someone tagged you out. This game gave our class a good run, and everyone had a great time playing.
Thank you for reading the #HClass25 blog. Tomoya will be writing the blog next week.
