#HClassBlog - "That''s The Breaks" - April 22, 2026
Introduction:
Hello everyone! My name is Hera, and this week, I will be writing the blog for #HClass25. I am a Grade 7 student at Sir Arthur Currie and I enjoy spending time with my friends, playing volleyball and practicing karate.
The Rose:
This week our class went to the park for our gym period! We had lots of fun playing soccer, volleyball and badminton outside and enjoyed the nice weather this week.
The Thorn:
Unfortunately, our classmate, Hadley, has been sick for a few weeks. We sent her some get well videos and are hoping she can come back soon! Feel better Hadley!
The Bud:
Next week we have a school dance on Thursday, April 23rd. It is after school and many of us are excited about going.
Literacy Leanings:
This week we learned about thesis statements. The grade 6s are learning how to include the question in their statement. We are also doing a Hip Hop History unit with Kurtis Blow’s “The Breaks”. We are learning about rhyme schemes like AABB rhyme patterns, internal, and end rhyme.
Math Mentions:
On Thursday we reviewed how to measure area and perimeter of circles because we will be learning about cylinders soon. The grade 6s are also starting their EQAO prep to prepare for the test.
Health & Fitness:
For gym this week we played Kickball and T Ball. T Ball is great for the grade 7 Slo Pitch tryouts that are coming up. Our school has also started a new Volleyball Intramurals club. It is for grade 6s and 7s who did not make the team this year and are looking to improve their skills.
