#HClassBlog - Saqeef was drinking water out of a plastic bag - February 25, 2026
Introduction:
Hello everyone! My name is Nishant, and this week, I will be writing the blog for #HClass25. I am a Grade 7 student at Sir Arthur Currie and I enjoy playing outside especially in the summer. Also, my favourite school subject other than gym is science.
The Rose:
We had a great lesson from our Teacher Candidate (Student Teacher) Mr. Teixeira who is with us for four weeks from Nipissing University. His lesson was on POV (point of view). Throughout the week he taught us many lessons with care and effectiveness. Another lesson he introduced to us was Algebra, and we loved it.

The Bud:
Our class is waiting for their Sweet Acts of Kindness Lollipops next week. The Sweet Acts of Kindness is a Grade 8 fundraiser that always takes place around Valentine’s Day. Students can purchase lollipops for friends, and they are delivered on February 25. This year the dollar we donated to Humana (a Non Government Organization (NGO) that helps people in need).
Literacy Leanings:
In Literacy we learned 3 different POV’s (point of views). We then told a story about our day from a different perspective. I wrote about a fellow student waking up and walking to school from a third person perspective.
Math Mentions:
We launched a new unit this week, Algebra. This lesson was taught by our teacher candidate, Mr. Teixeira. The lesson was different from the others. Instead of doing boring algebra questions, we learned the history of algebra and how four different scholars contributed to it. Did you know it started in India, The Middle East, Greece and South America at about the same time – even though those mathematicians had no way of communicating with each other?
History Happenings:
Our class started recording our podcast scripts on the platform, WeVideo. If you read the blog ,by Bilal, posted on February 4th, 2026 you will have a better understanding of this assignment. Ahmed (my partner) and I finished recording our first. Our topic was The Fall Of New France. Luckily, our teacher had this special mic, called the blue snowball. It helps if you have a quiet and soft voice. We should be making them available soon. Some of us are putting them on Spotify and iTunes.
Health & Fitness:
In the gym, our class played Biathlon. You may wonder how we played this Olympic game. We used paper “skis” to move around the room and then shot a dodge ball into the basketball hoop instead of aiming a gun at a target.
Next Week: Saqeef will be writing the blog next week.
