#HClassBlog - "Mr. Song's Moustache" - April 21, 2025

Introduction: 

Hello everyone! My name is Anakin, and this week, I will be writing the blog for #HClass24. I enjoy doing many things, like playing golf, playing video games and sketching. I am more introverted so I prefer being by myself.

The Rose: 

We have enjoyed three, 4-day weeks in a row because of Easter and a PD Day. So, we got a nice long break from school and some short weeks in-between. It had to be the best part of this month so far. We also had our first Dance/Social on Friday. It was a lot of fun.

The Thorn: 

Unfortunately, our student teacher Mrs. Seaby has left us. She finished her placement with our class. The good news is that she is now qualified to be a teacher and she can get paid for her hard work.
Maybe, one day, she could come back like Mr. Song did. She might even come back with a mustache like Mr. Song did – but probably not.

The Bud: 

We have been working with an HTML coding program called Twine. We are using it to code our own Choose Your Own Adventure games related to Canadian History (1713-1850)! Next week is when we should have everybody's game handed in so we’ll be able to play everybody's game. I'm super excited to try out all the games.

Math Mentions: 

In math we are doing algebra. We are learning how to find unknown variables, and on top of that we are also making programs using Scratch coding to calculate problems with unknown variables. 

Here is an example of a code for determining how long it will take to get a new puppy. The cost of the puppy, the amount you have saved and the amount your are saving each week are the variables.

We also had a Character Assembly for the trait of Empathy. Our class voted for four students to be recognized - Yasmin, Arfa, Maha and Ava.
