#HClassBlog - “I know, I was there. I’m in the same class you guys.” - January 31, 2024
Quote:
“I know, I was there. I’m in the same class you guys.” -- a slightly exasperated Rhianna, to a fellow student, who was telling her about something that happened in music class.
Introduction:
Welcome back to another blog article from Mr.H's class. Hello I’m Ria and I’ll be writing this week's blog. I love sports, animals and painting.
Rose:
This week, we finally got to work on our hot chocolate. Many of us are making our cocoa creations at home and documenting the journey. Not only are we doing the math to cost these delightful treats -- some are designing logos, webpages and menus. We present next week!!
Thorn:
We had soooo many tests last week. Well, I'm exaggerating, we had tests in music and French. We prepared and did pretty well, but no one loves a test.
We are all looking forward to the Kindness assembly. Our class took the lead on this one. We interviewed our Kindergarten Buddies about what kindness means to them -check out our video it's pretty adorable. We also made the slideshow and I get to be one of the MC’s.
Math Mentions:
This week in math we are learning more about Rate to prepare for our hot chocolate presentation. We learned how to determine food cost, but also looked at cost comparisons — Here’s something cool we learned, a 6 pack of 710 mL bottles of Coke and a 12 pack of 355 mL cans of coke contain the same amount of cola. Check it out with this problem and answer. (By the way, C.C.T. is a request for us to Clearly Communicate our Thinking)
Geography Gems:
Our geography gem this week was our landform assignment. It was a special assignment from Ms. Sulevani with help from Mr.H. We were asked to pick a location from a subcontinent -- mine was Central America. Then, we were to create a Shapegram of a globe pinning where our location is. We then researched and presented information about the Landforms, Natural Vegetation and Climate for that region. Here is mine.
