#HClassBlog - "La Spoon" - December 1, 2023

Quote:

“La spoon” said proudly in French class while reviewing our kitchen supplies and food vocabulary. This was stated a proudly  by A.R.  A.R. is definitely  one of the most interesting  personalities you will  meet. He is funny and caring and  a great presence to be around!

Introduction:

At last, another week in Mr. Hodgkinson’s portable 14 class, has come to an end Hello! I’m Avery! I enjoy spending time with friends, dancing and helping out in the classroom . This week I will be sharing with you some of the many adventures and accomplishments our class has been enjoying during the week of November 27- December 1st .

The Rose:

The rose of this week is definitely when on Friday we went out on a nature walk around the forest with our kindergarten buddies. It was a lot of fun, finding sticks and making creations with them. Some were similar but each kindergarten felt like they had made something unique in their own ways. Our buddies always have the biggest smiles on their faces! It's safe to say their smiles and positive attitudes make our week! It brought out compassion.

There was no Thorn last week - the Bud is below.

Math Mentions:

Recently in math, we’ve been learning different ways to organize and show data gathered through surveys. I did mine on favourite desserts, another group also did desserts, Ramsha and Elsa. They are one of the strongest duo you will meet! They are kind and thoughtful towards everyone! Such kind souls.

Celebration:

Shout out to A.R. and Renato who have created, organized and run (referee) a grade six soccer club to prepare them for the upcoming year and soccer tryouts! We love to see our Coyotes looking after others!

Art:

In art we have been working on Bayan Trees to show a new perspective of art to our parents and peers  We've used pastels and sharpies to make a gradient on our masterpieces! I made a banner for the top - check it out below.

Drama & The Bud:

In  drama, we have started to prepare some "tableaux vivants" to prepare to see  our Charlie And The Chocolate Factory at the Grand Theatre later this month. We also have actors from the production  coming in to visit us next week! To perform a tableaux,  we have memorized a  line from the musical and then as a group, we present it and freeze on the last syllable. When everyone has gone, we are a “living statue”. This is our chance to  show our acting skills and  we are also teaching six other classes the activity too.  When the actors from the show come, the best groups will perform for them.

We have now started to complete our cyber bullying skits, we have done random groups to make sure we have no issues with focus and  attentive  listening in our groups. We will now present our skits on Friday, December 8th

Gym:

In gym class, we participated in the Beep Test – a cardiovascular challenge involving sooo much running. Congrats to Kingston and Malak for being the top Beep Test runners in our class! Great job.

Kingston got to Level 10

Student Appreciation Of The Week:

Each week one of our amazing coyotes in #HClass23 will be honoured for their remarkably kind actions and respect. This week I’ve chosen to appreciate Cole, Cole is an exceptionally friendly, kind and smart student. Even after being cut from volleyball tryouts he continued to support his classmates. Such a responsible soul.

Thank you for being an amazing part of our class!

We are taking a break from the blog until the New Year. Thanks for reading, Krishi will be our next poster in January.
