"I Feel Like I'm IN Social Quarantine" - February 7
Introduction
This week’s writer is Henry. My favorite subject is math (nerd!!!!) and I like super cool stuff that you can’t even begin to comprehend. Also, I likes throwing my friends into lava.
Classroom Quote Of The Week!

The Rose
This week was a great week! On Wednesday, it was Global School Play Day (GSPD), which means we got a whole day off just to have fun and relax! GSPD is an annual event where schools are encouraged to give their students a full day to play. After all, "Play is the work of a child". The only rules are...be safe and no screens. We built blanket forts, brought in board games, played cards & chess, and built crafts together. At one point we moved the furniture and played "Gaga Ball" right in the portable. We even went over to the park to play outside even though it was cold and snowy. Not regular snow either. The really wet stuff.
Another awesome things happened this week. We were playing a Kahoot trivia game based on the read aloud we are doing "Front Desk"! It was fine but, more importantly, Austin tricked Mr. Hodgkinson into saying a funny name! I can't repeat it here, but Mr. Hodgkinson just laughed and said "That's good...you got me".
The Thorn
As I mentioned above, there was a lot of snow this week and it was very cold. Luckily, Mr. Hodgkinson let us stay in for recess on most days. Below is a detailed picture of me in the snow.
Mathematical Mentions
We finished up our studies of motion geometry on a Cartesian plane. Some of us went beyond expectations by coding a lesson on rotations, reflections and dilations using Scratch. This one is mine.

Something that will happen next week and in the next bunch of weeks is HoliDay or HoliNay. This is an activity where students give a presentation about the holidays that are observed on each day of the calendar. Some of them are important (Holidays) and some of them are just plain dumb (HoliNAYs). You can see them all at www.checkiday.com.Also, I personally am looking forward to coding a Rock Blaster game on Scratch. Mr. Hodgkinson promised to teach us that next week for sure...but that’s just what I think. Thanks for reading
Henry
